Why choose a tension-set ring? Tension settings do away with prongs, channels, bezels or any other kind of enclosure that hold gems in place. In a tension setting, the whole tension ring (tension mounting) acts as a stone holder; the diamond is held in place by lateral pressure, and it is as safe, or safer, than many other settings with traditional prongs.
Metal Combinations and Finishes Choosing metal combinations can get overwhelming. There are numerous possibilities, so while Gelin Abaci suggests certain combinations for specific styles, special orders are almost always possible.
Metal combinations include 14K yellow, white, or rose gold - and various combinations of each; 18K yellow, white, or rose gold - and various combinations of each; platinum and platinum in combination with 18k gold.
Metal finish choices include shiny, matte, or a combination of both where applicable. Surfaces can often be altered, so don't hesitate to ask if a shiny style can be matte, or vice-versa. We will always do our best to make sure that you have the ring that YOU want, not just a ring that's offered.
